Is WebDAV secure?
WebDAV security depends on how the server is configured. HTTPS, strong passwords, limited accounts, private folders, and trusted hosting make a WebDAV setup much safer.
Safer WebDAV habits
- Use HTTPS instead of plain HTTP when possible.
- Use strong passwords or app-specific passwords.
- Do not expose public folders unless you intentionally want them public.
- Keep your NAS, server, and router software updated.
- Disconnect storage you no longer use.
